Wade Schalles (born July 20, 1952) is a former American wrestler and wrestling coach. He is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in history, with a record of 146 pins and a total of 153 wins in his college career. He was a three-time NCAA Division II wrestling champion and a member of the United States national wrestling team in 1977. Schalles was also known for his innovative techniques, including the "Schalles Press" and the "Schalles Cradle." After retiring from competitive wrestling, Schalles became a coach, author, and motivational speaker, and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1996.
